COPWATCH MEETING

Houston CopWatch is having its next meeting on Monday, October 1, at 7pm at the TEJAS office: 6733 Harrisburg Blvd, Houston, TX 77011. Anyone and everyone is invited.

Coming to any CopWatch meeting is a great way to start volunteering with us.

At this particular meeting, we will be discussing possible methods of organizing copwatch to meet the needs of the various communities affected by police brutality, while at the same time offering a long term plan of autonomy for copwatch within those communities.
We will also be reviewing possible plans of action in terms of preventing police harassment of Copwatch volunteers, and funding/donation opportunities for Copwatch.

Come be a founding member!

Houston CopWatch’s First Meeting

Join Houston CopWatch for our first meeting on Sept 10, 2007 at the TEJAS office at 6733 Harrisburg Houston, TX 77011.

This is open to the public, but will be focused on gathering input from local activists on what they think Houston CopWatch could be or should be. This information will be used separately from the information gathered at later public meetings that will be focused primarily on getting the affected communities involved in both the planning aspects of CopWatch and also the volunteer aspects of CopWatch.
Once these meetings are completed, the input will be used to create an overall vision that incorporates both the ‘public’ and ‘activist’ points of view.
The present members of CopWatch will function as facilitators at both types of meetings to make sure this planning process is unbiased.
