GALVESTON — A Port of Galveston police officer accused of driving prostitutes to crack houses and financing their drug purchases posted bond Friday after his arrest on three charges of prostitution.
Police arrested James Roland Chapman, 53, at his apartment Wednesday and his bail was set at $7,500 for each charge, said Sgt. Gilbert Gomez, commander of the vice and narcotics division.
If convicted, Chapman could be sentenced to up to two years in jail and lose his peace officer’s license, Gomez said.
