A Houston police officer driving the wrong way on a freeway service road caused a three-car accident early this morning, authorities said.
The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. on the Southwest Freeway service road near Greenbriar where the officer went the wrong way down the road in his patrol car, authorities said.
A Chevorlet Suburban with the right of way then came through the intersection and struck the officer’s car, authorities said.
The patrol car then spun out of control, striking two other vehicles.
The officer was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.
No one else was hurt in the accident, authorities said.
